Easier said than done
Philippians 2:14-15 Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you…
Easier said than done. There is no need for a time of reflection or deep thought over this verse. DON’T COMPLAIN… DON’T ARGUE… When we do we give others a reason to criticize us. It’s pretty hard to reach someone for Christ if they don’t have any respect for us. Once again I fall short. Not arguing isn’t so bad because I really hate to argue. But complaining… that’s the hard one. How do you or I stop complaining? First; stop worrying. I think the two go hand and hand. Allow Christ to be in control. I know we say that he is in control, but we tend to fight over the helm. Second; be Christ focused and not others focused. Admit it, when you or I complain what are our complaints really about. Usually we complain about other people. I wonder if Christ walked around complaining about those %&^@* Pharisees. My guess is no. His only focus was following His Father’s footsteps. My goal for today and my challenge for anyone else that may read this is to try and go the whole day without complaining. It will be hard, but at least give it a try.
